“Maura, Daithi and the whole team have been very welcoming and I can’t wait to start now.

“The show is well loved and I look forward to bringing something extra this season.”

The addition of Sinead and Today’s revamped show title comes with even more new elements this season.

The show will have a new daily 50/50 quiz for viewers to win prizes.

‘Gaff Goddess’, Laura de Barra, will show us all her tips and tricks in our new ‘Home Hacks’ slot.

Daithi O Se said: “We are really delighted to have Sinéad on board with us.

“I think it’s made for the show, it’s the ninth season and it’s a good time to turn things around.”

And presenter Maura Derrane added: “After I decided to take a step back this year, I am delighted that Sinead is joining us. She is perfect for the show.

“It will add another dimension to Today as we move into season nine. We look forward to providing our loyal audience with a great mix of entertainment, lots of beauty and wellness tips, as well as our usual mix of fun again this year. “

With 160 episodes this year, and more than two hours of live television every Monday through Friday afternoon, the show airs live every day from RTE Cork.

Due to its growing popularity during the running of the bulls, it spanned two weeks at the end of the final season, filling a need since there were so many people at home.

The last season of Hoy with Maura and Daithí averaged 97,300 viewers per show, a 25% increase compared to the previous season in 2018-2019.

It earned a 17.4% viewer share, which increased by more than three percentage points.

In the first week back of the ninth season, viewers have a chance to win € 9,000.

Tune in to Today on Monday, September 21 at 3.30 pm on RTÉ One
