Conor McGregor was drug-tested aboard his £ 3 million superyacht by USADA officials in another preview of his return to the UFC.
The former two-weight UFC world champion, who retired earlier this year, is currently in Monaco as he prepares for a 180km journey to raise awareness about water safety.
McGregor will complete the challenge this weekend with Princess Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer and husband of Prince Albert II.
But on Friday, the Crumlin native posted photos on social media of a drug testing kit and said, “What’s going on here UFC? USADA just came to my yacht this morning for testing? I retired! ! “
“But go ahead, I’ll let you taste me. Everything is natural here baby! Forever and ever, God bless you. 180 km across the Mediterranean Sea tomorrow! LET’S GO!”
McGregor has allowed himself the opportunity to fight again by staying in the test pool, in which a fighter has to be in for at least six months before he can fight in the UFC.
McGregor hung up his gloves in June for the third time in four years after being frustrated by the lack of viable opponents.
But Nick Diaz’s proposed comeback early next year prompted him to hint at a comeback.
And he gave Nick and his brother Nate – with whom McGregor has twice shared the Octagon – another chance as “juice-headed rats.”
Another option for McGregor was opened up on Thursday when Dustin Poirier was unable to reach a deal with the UFC to face Tony Ferguson in October.
The lightweight rivals were to meet as the co-main event of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje in Abu Dhabi.
But Poirier, who has been defeated by both McGregor and Poirier, was unable to reach an agreement with the UFC’s top brass.
