Coronavirus Ireland: New Tight Dublin Lockdown Restrictions That Could Affect If Cases Continue To Rise Rapidly

[ad_1]

Tight new restrictions could be put in place for Dublin if cases continue to rise rapidly, according to reports that emerged this morning.

Voice-overs, as well as those in Limerick, face a possible ban on visiting other people’s homes if the Covid-19 spike doesn’t start to fall over the weekend.

This rule would be somewhat similar to what was introduced in Glasgow, where house gatherings are considered a hotbed for the virus.

Crisp numbers yesterday, there were 307 new cases and Dublin accounts for 182 or almost 60% of these high numbers.

As in Glasgow, most of the cases in the capital are understood to occur in the form of outbreaks at home parties and large gatherings with conditions in pubs and restaurants that really work well for Dublin.

But despite this and the fact that the cabinet agreed to open all pubs on September 21, the huge increase in cases in Dublin could cast doubt on the reopening date of pubs for the capital as well.

Acting Medical Director Dr. Ronan Glynn again urged the public not to lower their guard.

He said: “I urge everyone to follow public health advice and keep your distance.

“Don’t underestimate the risks associated with any of your interactions, even with your family, friends, or coworkers.

“Now is not the time to let your guard down; assume that you or those you know can be contagious and act accordingly.”

The number of confirmed cases since the outbreak began has exceeded 30,000.
