Victoria, 46, feared they might be “super spreaders” after flying back to the UK for her son Brooklyn’s 21st birthday, with guests like Stormzy and Emma Bunton.

Later, tests confirmed the couple’s Covid diagnosis.

Last night a friend said: “It was an absolute nightmare scenario.

“David was on duty at his club, Inter Miami, and Victoria and the family flew in to support him.

“They attended a couple of fancy networking events as David had promotional duties, and they were shaking hands and kissing fans and various club dignitaries.

“Then they flew back to London, and were taken straight to their Cotswolds mansion.”

The source said the couple celebrated Brooklyn on 21 before a short trip back to the United States, this time to Miami.

When they returned, the source continued, “David began to feel ill and then Victoria developed a sore throat and high fever.

“At the same time, several members of his team, including drivers, bodyguards and assistants, fell ill, a couple of them very seriously.

“Victoria really panicked and made the whole family rigidly self-quarantine for more than two weeks.

“She was absolutely petrified that they could be super spreaders, and did her best to minimize all future risks.

“Not only was she bad in bed, but she was also completely scared. It was a difficult few weeks.”

After making a full recovery, Posh and Becks, 45, checked in regularly with their team.

It is understood that they sent “aid packages” to at least two staff members who were particularly affected.

The couple spent the entire summer locked up in their country home, complete with a pool, soccer field and hot tub, and turned down various party invitations.

They later underwent swab and antibody tests before vacationing in Greece and Italy to make sure they were safe for travel.

The couple also canceled their middle son Romeo’s planned 18th birthday last weekend out of fear they would break social distancing rules.

Their nightmare ordeal at Covid is believed to have started on March 1, when Becks’ Inter Miami team played their first away game at Los Angeles FC.

David cheered on the team, which was joined by celebrity chef friend Gordon Ramsay, and the Beckham clan, including Brooklyn’s fiancee, billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz.

A few days later, on March 6, they celebrated Brooklyn 21 with a lavish £ 100,000 party in the Cotswolds.

David posted a photo of him showing them around the club’s new stadium after their first home game was postponed due to the coronavirus.

After the home confinement began, Posh and Becks became two of the first celebrities to endorse the weekly Clap For Carers initiative.

Victoria made one of David, Romeo, Cruz, 14, and Harper, nine, “to thank the brave healthcare workers and the brilliant NHS who work tirelessly in the fight against Covid-19.”

He spoke to two NHS teams on Instagram TV and wrote: “We must all do our part to stay home and help these amazing workers and their colleagues on the front line.”

The ex-Spice Girl turned fashion designer also donated 25 percent of sales to food banks to help those hardest hit by the pandemic.

She said: “Words cannot describe how grateful we all are for the courage and hard work of all who are making significant sacrifices to keep us safe.

“We are in this together. We are committed to helping the most vulnerable people in our communities: nurses and healthcare workers who are sacrificing their own health to treat and care for others; teachers who continue to support their classrooms; mothers and children, many of whom are now at home, balancing full-time jobs and homeschooling, and the elderly, who are at increased health risk and unable to shop for themselves. ”

Former England captain David also insisted that his MLS team change the club’s logo from two intertwined herons to promote social distancing.

One source added: “David and Victoria have done everything they can during the pandemic to help each other and make up for the journey so early in the crisis.”

A spokeswoman for David and Victoria declined to comment.
