A DJ and music producer who was one of ten social media personalities who recently moved to a “creation” center, left the project.
Marty Guilfoyle and nine other popular TikTok users in Ireland moved into a home in Dublin this week to collaborate for their respective audiences.
‘The Goat House’ follows similar setups from creators in America like The Hype House and The Sway House.
Guilfoyle released a statement on social media last night saying he was no longer involved in the project after he was presented with a host of abuse online.
The radio host, who yesterday was ‘trending’ on Twitter, was accused by some users of being “weird” or “predatory” for being older than others in the house.
He said he was invited two weeks ago “by someone my age to join a collaborative TikTok project.”
He said the popular video-sharing app “was responsible for the biggest change in music distribution in the last decade” and that it can “make or break a career.”
“The project sounded a bit fun, but if it went well it could have a huge impact on my work.
“There is still a lot of room for innovation on TikTok, so even if it came to nothing, you could at least meet like-minded people in that space.
“When I signed up, I had no idea who was going to be in the house with me, and I took a leap of faith.
Fast-forward three days and suddenly I’m the number one trending topic in the country, which is absolutely wild for me, it’s a content collaboration project and it’s not like there’s nothing else in the world.

“Maybe you think I’m stupid. Good. Maybe you think I’m stupid. Good. I can take a scum just as well as the next guy.
“But what really bothers me are the suggestions that signing a project work with a group of adults was somehow strange or even predatory.”
“At this stage, my concern is that it might start to affect other people involved, so I left the house and no longer have any connection to the project.
“I wish everyone present the best of luck, I hope you have a great time and I can’t wait to see the result of the collaboration.”
The remaining members of the house are Andrea Camila, Lewis Kelly, Thomas Arnold, Jake Brown, Ryan Mar, Shauna Davitt, Lauren Whelan, Leila Ecker, and Nia Gallagher.
