A woman was reportedly hit with a pickaxe in an alleged assault in Leitrim on Thursday night.
The alleged incident occurred in the Pairc Beag area of Lis Cara at 7:30 pm.
The woman, in her 50s, did not require medical attention after the alleged incident.
Gardai confirmed that they have launched an investigation, but at this time no arrests have been made.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí is investigating an assault incident that occurred in the Pairc Beag area of Lis Cara on 09/03/2020 at approximately 7:30 pm.
“A woman, in her 50s, reported being assaulted. She did not require medical attention. Investigations continue.”
