NA Piarsaigh reached the Bon Secours Hospital Limerick SHC semifinals with this easy win over Ballybrown.
The LIT Gaelic Grounds quarterfinals ended Na Piarsaigh 0-26 Ballybrown 0-13 this Saturday night.
The result means that Na Piarsaigh will now face champion Patrickswell in the county semi-final on Saturday, September 12 at the LIT Gaelic Grounds at 7:30. The other semi-final Kilmallock v Doon or South Liberties will be the backdrop at 5.30.
In these quarterfinals, Na Piarsaigh dominated from start to finish against a Ballybrown team without key injured defenders Mikey Kiely and Colin Coughlan.
Na Piarsaigh led 0-14 to 0-6 at halftime and Ballybrown had the help of the breeze in that 30 minute span.
Aidan O’Connor and Josh Adams had early Ballybrown points, but the men in green and white were going to score just one game point in the remaining 25 minutes of the half.
Na Piarsaigh scored 12 game points in the first half, Peter Casey led the way with five game points.
Ut was 0-5 to 0-2 approaching the half-time point and Na Piarsaigh could very well have scored three goals, but goalkeeper Conor O’Neill and the defenders kept their net intact.
Casey, Conor Boylan, Kevin Downes, David Dempsey and William Henn scored points as Caherdavin’s team went 0-9 to 0-3 before the 20th minute.
Three points from Andrew Cliffe brought him back to a game of three, but Na Piarsaigh advanced into halftime with the final five points to leave eight points clear at interval.
At the restart, the game was full of free games.
It was 0-20 to 0-11 for the men in blue at the water break with just four game points, two for Kevin Downes.
Na Piarsaigh would have been ahead, but Conor O’Neill denied goals from David Dempsey and Conor Boylan with excellent saves, both resulting from the 65s were converted by Ronan Lynch.
Na Piarsaigh topped the winning line with points from Adrian Breen, Adam McNamara and Boylan, among others.
