HURLING
Na Piarsaigh will play against Patrickswell next Saturday in the semifinal of the Limerick comic SHC after beating Ballybrown by 13 points at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.
It will be a repeat of last year’s final, as the clubs have shared the last five county titles with each other.
Dicksboro is the first team to reach the semifinals of the Kilkenny SHC after passing Bennettsbridge at UPMC Nowlan Park.
Liam, Bill Sheehan and Aidan Nolan scored the goals for the garnet and white, which saw Shane Stapleton score the most with 9 points (0-5f).
They were joined by the O’Loughlin Gaels, who watched the Erin’s Own challenge on the spot.
Across the border, John McGrath hit 0-12 (0-06f) as Loughmore-Castleiney edged Nenagh Éire Óg in the first Tipperary SHC semifinal.
In GalwaySt Thomas also qualified for the quarter-finals after beating Killimordaly, despite a pair of late goals.
There they will be joined by Cappataggle, who were too strong for Ahascragh / Fohenagh.
Éire Óg scored their last five points when they finally reached the last four of the Clare SHC after the disappointment of the last four years.
They beat Feakle in Ennis.
Birr’s strong performance in the second half allowed them to record their first group stage win of the Offaly SHC, beating Seir Kieran at Tullamore.

Penalties were needed at Aughrim when Tinahely booked her spot in the final of the Wicklow SFC.
The game against Avondale ended 2-13 apiece after overtime, with the south county club emerging 4-3 on penalties.
Noel Mulhall scored what would turn out to be the winning penalty, before Alan Nolan saved Conor McGraynor’s effort.
At Tyrone, the defending champions Trillick are in the decider once again after beating the 2018 champions Coalisland.
A goal shortly after the restart from Simon Garrity put them on track, after they took a small lead at the break.
St. Connell’s progressed to Donegal SFC semifinal after beating Glenfin by 17 points. Ethan O’Donnell and Charles McGuinness scored the goals for the defending champions.
In the day’s other round of 16 clash, Mathew McClean’s late goal gave Kilcar the lead they needed to hold off stubborn St Michael.
Clonmel Commercials reserved its place at the Tipperary SFC final after a double win over Kilsheelan-Kilcash.
The 2019 winners led by three at halftime, before walking away, with Colman Kennedy leading the way in the second half.

In Kildare, Castledermot clinched his first championship win with 13 points to spare over Monasterevin.
It is the second major loss for the West County club in this year’s competition.
Daniel Flynn participated in all four goals, scoring one himself, as Johnstownbridge impressed in his win over St Laurence’s; it was also his first victory in this year’s competition.
While Moorefield beat Maynooth in the last game of the day.
