Parents of students from another Dublin school have been informed of a positive case of COVID-19.
The HSE has confirmed in a letter that a confirmed case of coronavirus was reported at the St Thomas National Youth School in Lucan.
The letter was shared on Facebook by the school’s parent association.
The advisory indicates that a public health risk assessment has been conducted and all close contacts have been identified.
It goes on to say: “All close contacts have been advised to restrict their movements and the HSE will refer them for analysis in accordance with the National Public Health contact tracing guide.
“Restricted movement means avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible. It is also sometimes called “self-quarantine.”
“Restricted movement means that close contacts stay home and:
- Don’t go to school or work
- Don’t use public transportation
- Not having house visitors
- Do not go to the stores or the pharmacy, unless it is absolutely necessary
- Stay away from the elderly, anyone with an underlying medical condition, and pregnant women. “
The news comes when an elementary school in Co Meath contacted parents with information from the HSE after a student was confirmed to have tested positive for the virus.
Additionally, two more primary schools in Dublin have contacted parents to confirm that they have had COVID-19 cases.
One of the schools is in the north of County Dublin, while the other is on the south side of the city.
It is not yet known if a staff member or student from any of the schools returned positive tests.
Northside parents were contacted by HSE on Friday.
Holy Family National School in Rathcoole sent a class home Tuesday as a precautionary measure due to a positive test.
On the same day, the Lucan Community National School informed parents by email that there was a confirmed case and that a public health risk assessment had been carried out on the advice of the Medical Health Officer.
