They wrote on Facebook: “NAKED STORM SHOW FOR NEXT WEEKEND.

“The morning ECMWF model shows a very deep system moving into Ireland next weekend.

“This model shows the worst winds that hit the west and then very strong winds that cross the country.

“The pressure on this model is showing only 970 hPa at the moment.

“The ECMWF model is the only model I can see that shows this system at the moment, so time will tell.

“It’s still a very long road, but it’s definitely worth watching.”

‘FAIRLY BREEZY’

Meanwhile, Met Eireann says sunshine and scattered showers are expected today, with temperatures peaking at 17 ° C.

They said: “Sunny spells and scattered showers today, the most frequent showers in the west and north of the country, where some will be intense and prolonged.”

“The longest sunny periods will occur in the southern areas.

“Cool and quite windy with maximum temperatures of 14-17 ° C in moderate westerly winds, cool near the coasts.”

But heavy rains will hit parts of the country tonight.

They added; “There will be more downpours tonight, some of them heavy, sometimes merging with longer periods of rain.

“Lower temperatures of 9 to 12 ° C with some patches of fog forming in light to moderate breezes from the west.

“Sunday will be another day of sunshine and scattered showers.

“Showers are more widespread in the morning, but become increasingly isolated during the afternoon and evening with good bouts of sunshine.

“Maximum temperatures of 16 to 19 ° C, with moderate breezes from the west.”
