A Covid-19 outbreak was confirmed at a Dublin apartment complex after the HSE offered residents free tests.

People living at the Dolphin House in Dolphin’s Barn, Dublin 8, were offered free testing after a cluster of cases was identified on the block.

Testing took place at the Dolphin House Community Center on Wednesday afternoon.

A letter to residents, seen by Dublin Live, urged locals to follow public health advice and take advantage of free testing after a “small number of Covid cases” were confirmed in the area.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus. Symptoms range from a mild cough to pneumonia.

An HSE spokesperson confirmed to Dublin Live that, while they do not comment on individual cases, “HSE Public Health and its partners are currently dealing with a Covid-19 outbreak at an apartment complex in the Dublin area.”

They continued: “HSE Public Health has reached out to local residents and Covid-19 testing is being provided.

“All the people who have tested positive and their close contacts are being followed up and appropriate supports are being provided.”
