11-year-old girl seriously injured after being hit by a car on the N24 road in Limerick

A young girl was airlifted to Cork University Hospital in serious condition after being hit by a car on the Limerick to Tipperary road tonight.

Gardai has asked for witnesses, especially drivers with dash cameras who may have recorded the moments before, during and after the collision.

The incident occurred around 5.30pm on a section of the N24 in Pallasgreen, Co Limerick.

Gardai believes the girl was walking on the road at the time of the collision.

“Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N24 in Pallasgreen, Co Limerick at approximately 5.30 pm on Thursday 3 September 2020,” confirmed a Garda spokesperson.

“An 11-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was hit by a car. She was airlifted from the scene to Cork University Hospital, where her condition is understood to be serious. ”

“An examination of the crash site has been carried out and the road has since been reopened to traffic.” Gardaí appealed, in particular to “those with video images (including dash cam) of the route at the time of the collision to communicate with them.” .
