GARDAI arrested a man in his 50s after the anti-drug squad seized more than € 30,000 worth of suspected cannabis from a home in County Limerick.
The divisional drug unit and the armed support unit searched a house in Abbeyfeale shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
During the course of the search, Gardai discovered a grow house containing mature cannabis plants worth € 15,200.
Further searches of the house led to the discovery of a suspected cannabis herb worth € 15,000.
Gardai seized the suspected drugs along with fans, heat lamps, an irrigation system and garden equipment. The local Crime Scene Unit attended and photographed the scene and the seized items.
The suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
A man, in his 50s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Henry Street Garda Station, where he is currently being held.
As part of the investigation, two other properties in Limerick were searched. During these searches, no other items of probative value were seized. Ongoing investigation.
