Two people die in separate traffic incidents Tuesday night

Two people were killed on state highways after separate incidents Tuesday night.

In the first incident, a 19-year-old man was killed in a traffic collision involving two cars in Co Donegal. Gardaí and emergency services were called to the crash site on the N56 in Creeslough around 9:30 pm.

Three young men were in the first car: a 19-year-old passenger who died, and a driver and a second passenger in their 20s, who were injured and taken to Letterkenny Hospital.

The driver of the second car, a man in his 50s, was also injured and taken to hospital.

The crash scene is currently preserved for examination by Garda’s Forensic Collision Investigators. The road is closed to traffic with local detours, and the local coroner has been notified of the death.

In Wexford, a pedestrian died Tuesday night after being hit by a car near New Ross.

The Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on the N25 in Portersland around 9:50 p.m. A pedestrian (36) was taken by ambulance to Waterford University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car was unhurt.

The scene is being preserved and there are local deviations.
