Daryl Horgan has secured a move to the Hibernian Wycombe Wanderers team.
The six-time Republic of Ireland international spent 18 months earlier with Preston North End after moving from Dundalk, then moved to Scotland in the summer of 2018, becoming a regular at Hibs.
The 28-year-old had already played five times in the new Scottish Premiership season, but Wycombe secured a surprising promotion for the next season and his coach Gareth Ainsworth has chosen to push the extreme for an undisclosed fee.
Ainsworth said: “Daryl is someone we’ve been keeping an eye on since he put in that outstanding performance against us and we think he’s great for the way we play.
“He’s fast, direct, he loves to run on defense and has a strong goal threat in terms of scoring and creating chances for his teammates.
“I am excited to see what he can do for us and his arrival gives us additional firepower in the future as we hope to start on the front foot in the Championship within 10 days.”
Horgan started with Sligo Rovers and his form for Cork City and Dundalk led to Preston looking for him in January 2017.
He played 43 times in total for the Championship club team before moving to Scotland, where he scored 10 goals in 81 games.
Hibernian Head Coach Jack Ross said: “It was a real pleasure to work with Daryl, a manager’s dream in the way he applies it every day.”
“I am disappointed to lose it, but it is a good opportunity for Daryl and his family. I wish them all the luck in the world.”
