Van de Beek’s father lifts lid on Man Utd deal with transfer closure

The father of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek has called his son’s impending move to Man Utd a “dream come true”, with the Dutchman set to sign for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

Today’s reports claim that Van de Beek had passed a medical examination prior to a £ 40 million move to Old Trafford, with personal terms also agreed.

“It is the perfect time for him to take this step towards such a beautiful club, but Ajax will always remain in our hearts. In principle, we never end there.

“Ten years playing there wouldn’t have been a punishment, so you wouldn’t have listened to Donny either. But at some point it is time to look further.

“Many clubs were interested, but Donny made this decision himself.”
