A part of Temple Bar was closed to the public tonight due to an ongoing incident.

Parliament Street is currently closed to traffic at Wellington Quay.

The Dublin fire brigade is on the scene, and it is understood that a building in the area has been evacuated.

According to local reports, there was a call related to an apartment fire.

Discover Temple Bar on Instagram posted live from the scene and praised the work of the firefighters.

AA Roadwatch reports that the road remains closed.

They said: “Parliament St is currently closed at Wellington Quay jct as emergency services deal with an incident.”

A Dublin City Council spokesperson told Dublin Live: “At 4:23 PM, the Dublin Fire Brigade received a call to 999/112 for a fire in a residential building on Parliament Street. Four fire fighting appliances were dispatched, one revolving ladder , a district officer and a senior officer on the scene.

“An evacuation of the building was underway upon our arrival. Firefighters using breathing apparatus entered the building to extinguish the fire and ventilate the building.

“Firefighters are still on the scene to buffer and locate the source. The fire has caused minimal damage to the building. No injuries have been reported.”
