This is the moment the brave Gardai tackled and disarmed a knife-wielding man on a busy Dublin street at rush hour Friday.

Several Gardai responded to a law enforcement incident at a facility on Talbot Street, where a man in his 30s assaulted two staff members.

The video shows three members of the force running after the alleged armed assailant before he decides to hand over the ghost.

The two male Gardai knock him to the ground, but the cries of “give me the knife” can be heard clearly as the three of them fight, while one Garda tells concerned onlookers “it’s okay” and “we got it.”

Eventually, two other members of the force enter and assist in disarmament and eventual arrest.

A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “Gardai responded to a public order incident on Friday 28 August 2020 at approximately 5.15pm at a venue on Talbot Street in Dublin.

“Two members of the local staff were allegedly threatened and attacked during the incident.

“A 36-year-old man was later arrested and taken to Store Street Garda Station.

“The two staff members suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Investigations are ongoing.”
