There are 127 new cases of Covid-19 in the country and there are no more deaths.
The death toll from the virus is now 1,777; while there have been 28,578 confirmed cases of the disease.
52 of the new cases are in Dublin, there are 13 in Monaghan, 9 in Tipperary, 8 in Roscommon, 8 in Meath, 8 in Wexford, and the remaining 29 are in 15 counties, including Galway.
Dr. Ronan Glynn, Acting Medical Director of the Department of Health, said; “While the number of people in intensive care remains stable, we have seen another 8 people hospitalized in the last 24 hours.
“If the cases continue to increase, we will see an inevitable increase in the number of people hospitalized. We all have a role to play in preventing that from happening.
“This weekend it is vital that people do their part by reducing social contacts. Don’t let your guard down just because you run into people close to you. Remember that just because someone looks and feels good doesn’t mean they don’t have COVID. “
