Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is ready to address the nation with the decision on the closure of Ireland.
The Fine Gael leader will announce whether the restrictions will be lifted on Monday, May 18.
Varadkar is expected to speak live on RTE News and Virgin Media at 4pm, it has been confirmed.
Ireland is expected to enter Phase 1 of the Government’s five-step exit plan.
This means that meetings of up to four non-household members will be allowed once a day from May 18 onwards.

And home goods stores are not expected to resume trading on Monday, contrary to expectations.
The original plan stated that state home goods stores could reopen in the plan during phase one, but NPHET is believed to have revised this decision.

What time will Leo Varadkar make an announcement?
The Taoiseach will brief the nation after the Cabinet meets this afternoon to review the measures.
The briefing will take place at 4pm.
The NPHET emergency team already met last night and made their recommendations, so now it all depends on the Cabinet.

Speaking at the Dail on Thursday, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said he was “sure” that the first phase of the plan would continue on Monday.
The Taoiseach said: “We are seeing what we can achieve when we put the needs of the many above the needs of the few,” he said.
“The first steps to revive our economy will be carried out slowly and gradually.
“As we are seeing around the world, it is not a straight path. Sometimes progress stops and there are setbacks.”
“While each death is troubling, in the past seven days we have seen the fewest daily deaths and cases since March.”
