An investigation is underway following the seizure of 17 dogs at Rosslare Europort in Co Wexford.
The seizure took place after a joint operation involving Gardaí, revenue officials, the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA), the Wexford Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (WSPCA) and the guardian of the Wexford County Council. .
Gardaí says the dogs were found as a result of a routine profile, which was carried out during a search for a registered carrier in Ireland due to a ferry to Fishguard in Wales.
All dogs have been transferred to the care of WSPCA and Wexford Dog Keeper.
