Melbourne man Richard Pusey faces a dozen charges related to the fatal accident

An Australian court filmed and taunted four policemen as they lay dying, according to a local media outlet.

Richard Pusey, 41, who faces charges of reckless conduct and obstruction of justice, applied for bail on Monday.

He was arrested for speeding on a highway last month. A short time later, a truck veered into the lane and collided with officers.

Mr. Pusey was unharmed. Police say he filmed the scene before fleeing.

On Monday, his attorney, Vincent Peters, said his client may have been in shock after the accident, the Australian Associated Press reported.

The four police officers had been standing outside their cars when the refrigerated truck entered them and Mr. Pusey’s Porsche sports car. The driver, Mohinder Singh Bajwa, faces negligent driving charges for the accident.

Mr. Pusey was arrested at his home in Melbourne hours after the April 22 accident on the East Freeway. Agents Lynette Taylor and Kevin King, and agents Glen Humphris and Josh Prestney died at the scene.

They represented the worst loss of life in the history of Victoria police, authorities said.

Police told a court Monday that Pusey filmed the scene for more than three minutes, during which he zoomed in on certain areas and made derogatory comments.

Police officer Taylor’s body camera also captured Mr. Pusey taunting her as she lay immobilized under the truck. Experts say she was probably still alive at the time.

Police alleged that he later tested positive for drugs.

“There you go. Amazing, absolutely amazing,” he is said to have said.

“All I wanted was to go home and eat my sushi now and you’ve [expletive] me [expletive] car.”

Her informed statements have sparked outrage in the local community.

Victoria Police Minister Lisa Neville previously condemned her actions as “completely disgusting and disgusting.”

The court has yet to make a decision on your bond request.
