After a day of bright sunshine and peak temperatures, the Irish who got up this morning in hopes of having better weather were very disappointed.
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year in that temperatures rose to 23 degrees.
Today, however, it is a different story as the dreaded rain and clouds return as temperatures drop.
“It will be cool and windy today,” said a spokesman for Met Eireann.
Cloudy Fairly cloudy with limited bright or sunny spells. Partly rainy or drizzle sometimes, but also many dry periods.
‘During the afternoon and evening, sunny spells will spread from the north.
‘Much cooler than in recent days with cool, gusting winds from the northeast. Higher temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in the north and 13 to 16 degrees in the south. “
The temperature will drop further this evening to between one and five degrees.
The beginning of the week will bring mixed weather, and unfortunately temperatures also seem to be keeping low.
“Dry, bright and cool tomorrow with good periods of sunshine,” predicted the national forecaster.
“Cool with maximum daytime temperatures of 10-13 degrees in moderate to cool northeast breezes.”
Fortunately, it’s not all bad news, as the weather will improve again later in the week and temperatures will rise to 17 degrees again.
“Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will continue to be dry with sunny periods and mostly moderate northeast breezes,” said Met Eireann.
“Daytime temperatures will range from about 12 degrees in the east and north to 16 or 17 degrees in the west and south.”
There is also good news for next weekend, as early indications show that the weather will improve and temperatures will reach the high levels of adolescence.
