Man killed in cork farm incident called

A man in his seventies who died after an incident involving a bull on a farm in Ballinhassig, Co Cork has been locally named John Reynolds.

Mr. Reynolds (74) of the Rising Sun in Ballinhassig suffered fatal injuries after he was attacked by a Friesian bull while tending livestock on Saturday night.

He was highly respected in the local community, with condolences offered by Fine Gael Senator Tim Lombard, among others.

The alarm was raised by two men who worked with the farmer. Emergency services rushed to the scene. Mr. Reynolds was pronounced dead before he could be transferred to the hospital for treatment.
