“But Ireland is very close to my heart. I grew up there in Navan, Co Meath when I was a boy. My grandfather built a lovely little house on the banks of the Boyne River. I went to school at Christian Brothers. I left Ireland as a 11 years – August 12, 1964 – was the same day that [James Bond] author Ian Fleming passed away. I only realized that many years later. ”

“I am Irish, I am Irish abroad,” he stressed. “My work as an actor has always been colored by that sentimentality and that passion and melancholy that we carry with us. That kind of fierce love for life and passion for people and communication. The bond is this beautiful gift that continues to give .

“Since the James Bond days, I formed my little company to make movies and called the Irish DreamTime company. So Irish DreamTime with my deceased [production] Buddy Beau Marie St Clair and I made about 10 movies.

“One of the jewels in the crown was a movie called Evelyn…[[[[the] Thomas Crown Affair, The matador -We made quite a few movies. The last movie we made was a little thriller called THAT. and we did that in Dublin. I hope to come back, God willing, [at] at the end of the year to make another movie called Youth. So Ireland pulls me back. ”

“I sure do,” said the host. “Actually, on the radio show I host, I would ask listeners to remember the movies they love that you were in and [true child custody story] Evelyn It received a special mention because it was an important movie for many people who saw that. As much as [cult Irish action movie] Taffin – for several reasons!

“But the association is strong and nostalgic, but also, you’re still coming back to make movies here. I suspect you should probably buy a house somewhere in the west sometime.”

“When I was there doing the little movie THAT. we were in Dalkey, which I love, “Brosnan replied.

“I was saying, ‘I should have bought a place.’ My wife was saying, ‘Well, you should have! I told you so many years ago when you were making the voucher to go buy a place!”

“I think there is still time to find a small cabin,” Brosnan concluded.

“I mean, the house we have here is a cabin. It is a three-bedroom cabin, so you don’t need much. All you need is a good bed, a good table to sit on, a beautiful view, and a bottle. of wine!”
