Animal Crossing: New Horizons May Day Tour is here, the latest in the new series of events that will hit your island in the next month or so. It is a celebration of the beginning of the month, along with their hard work, and runs from May 1 to 7.
During this event, you’ll be able to get a special ticket for the May Day Tour, which works a little differently than regular Nook Miles tickets.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons May Day Tour – How It Works
During the event, Isabelle will inform you that Tom Nook has a special May Day Ticket to give you, so be sure to head to Resident Services as soon as possible to pick up your gift.
Tom Nook will explain that the event is meant to thank all the workers, especially those who have made the island more beautiful, also known as you, its Resident Representative.
It will ensure that there is a special May Day ticket at the airport for you, and you can redeem it anytime between Friday, May 1 and Thursday, May 7.
From there, it’s just a case of going to the airport to use your May ticket whenever you want between that time. To use it, simply press the normal ‘I would like to fly’ option as you would a Nook Miles ticket, and it will take you to a special ANimal Crossing destination: New Horizons May Day Tour. But not before stripping everything you have on: sweep your clothes, of course, the Dodos are not totally crazy.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons May Day Tour Tickets
When you arrive at the Animal Crossing: New Horizons May Day Tour special destination, Wilbur will inform you that this mysterious new island is a giant maze that you must go through. You won’t have any tools or anything in your pockets to help you, but if you get stuck you can call the Rescue Services from your phone to drop it back at the landing dock so you can start again.
Oddly, it looks like Wilbur might have a hit or two for you, too.
However, from here, you will have to solve your way through the maze, which consists of a series of puzzles to solve using your Animal Crossing: The New Horizons Knowledge. Without a doubt, each maze will be built differently, so here are some basic tips:
- Eat fruit to dig up trees with the shovel you will find
- You don’t need fruit to dig up bushes
- You can’t remove the fences
- Pushes in one direction to jump over small holes
- A worn ax only lasts long enough to cut one tree
- You can’t get resources hitting rocks
- You can dig up tree stumps with your shovel
- Use the fruit as little as you can
- Remember the location of the resources and key elements while navigating the maze
Your reward for completing the maze will be a selection of Bell Vouchers, which you can exchange when you return to your island. But, when you reach the end, you will also meet a special guest, Rover, who will give you a reward: Rover’s briefcase.
All Bell coupons, along with Rober’s briefcase, will be mailed to your home when you leave the island. However, anything else you have collected in the maze will not be saved.
Bell coupons can be redeemed by ‘selling’ them to Tommy and Timmy at Nook’s Cranny as well. They are worth 3,000 bells each.
Who is the special guest?
Now Rover has an interesting story in the Animal Crossing series, and when you talk to him after finishing the maze, it seems like he’s about to return somehow. It is a very busy kitten, with a lot of backstory.
Initially, in Animal Forest and Animal Crossing, I’d set up your game for the first time, setting the time, date, player character, and city you live in, and I’d meet you on the train on the way to your town.
He plays a much smaller role in Animal Crossing: Wild World, but then in Animal Crossing: City Folk he is the cat that finds you on the bus driven by Kapp’n, who will ask you a question that will determine your gender and name. with the name of your town.
It’s the same for Animal Crossing: New Leaf as well, with Rover appearing on the same train as you, and again asking you questions that will set up the game.
Of course, in New Horizons, Timmy and Tommy assumed all of their previous roles prior to their arrival on their island. However, he clearly hints that he might become a more regular visitor to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, though it’s unclear what role he would take if he returned.
Can you get another May Day Tour ticket?
Even though Wilbur says you can’t go back to this May Day Tour again, there doesn’t seem to be an option to go to another May Day Tour or get a second (or more) May Day Ticket. This is a one-hit wonder, so enjoy the ride while it lasts. There is always the next day in May.
