A young woman tragically died after the car she was traveling in collided with a wall in Co Roscommon.
The woman, in her 20s, and the driver, a man in her 20s, were rushed to Sligo University Hospital after Saturday morning’s accident.
Gardai confirmed that he sadly passed away on Saturday night due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Officers are asking for witnesses to the accident on the N61 road in Greatmeadow, Boyle to come forward.
The condition of the driver is unknown. No other injuries have been reported.
A Garda spokesperson said: “The car collided with a wall causing significant damage to the vehicle.
“The path was closed to forensic collision investigators and has since been reopened.
“Gardaí in Boyle continues to appeal for the appearance of witnesses to this incident and for any road user who may have camera footage (including the dash cam) traveling in the Greatmeadow area at the time to make it available to Gardaí.
