Ryanair, TUI and Jet2 share the first dates when flights and holidays can start again

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade advises against all non-essential travel abroad until further notice in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

But many hope that the blocking restrictions will be lifted in time to plan a trip this summer.

While the planes remain on the ground for the time being, several of the larger airlines have started giving exact dates when the planes can start taking off again.

Of course, as things unfold both at home and abroad, these dates may change, and that is before we come to the fact that most countries currently do not let people in from Britain either.

But to offer a ray of hope for the upcoming vacation, this is when Ryanair, TUI and Jet 2 start accepting the reservation again from:

Ryanair

Ryanair has landed 90% of its flights, but will continue to operate on limited hours.

Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O’Leary confirmed that a normal commercial flight schedule will not return until June 17.

Until then, the airline is exempting the exchange fee for any flight booked until the end of May, which can be changed until the end of August.

A statement says: “As most EU countries have imposed flight bans or other restrictions, more than 90% of Ryanair planes are landed in the coming weeks.

“We will comply with these restrictions at all times. We are working with EU governments to try to keep some minimum flight links open for emergency reasons, even though the passenger load on these flights is very low.”

“All aircraft are disinfected daily. At low loads, social distancing on board is being optimized. We ask all passengers to fully cooperate with our crews who are doing their best in difficult times to maintain vital links to / from Ireland and to / from the UK to make it easier for our passengers and their families to face emergencies that may require urgent travel in the coming days and weeks.

“Ryanair sincerely apologizes for the unprecedented grounding of our aircraft fleet, and any disruption in the schedule that this may have caused, but we must all work together with EU governments to minimize the impact of Covid-19 on our citizens and our health services. ”

Tui has announced that he plans to start flying again on June 17.

But all vacations until May 14 inclusive, and all Marella cruise vacations until May 31 inclusive, will not take place.

A Tui spokeswoman said: “We are constantly monitoring the situation and will start taking people on vacation again as soon as we can.”

By posting an update on Twitter, TUI told customers not to contact them, but instead to go to their website for the latest information.

“These are uncertain times for all of us and we do not underestimate the impact on those of you with reserved vacations,” the message said.

“For that reason, we made the difficult decision to cancel all vacations until May 14 inclusive.

“Our travel promise lives on, as it is important to us to give you the vacation you deserve.

“This means that you can modify all vacations until June 30 for free, even if you have to travel between April 17 and May 14.”

Jet2

Jet2 said it would not restart any flights until June.

A spokesperson told Mirror Money: “In view of the current uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to restart our flight and vacation program on June 17.

“We keep this decision under constant review, in line with the guidance of governments and relevant authorities.”

“Customers who had to travel before this date do not need to contact us. We are proactively communicating with clients on the departure date to discuss their options, one of which is to rebook your vacation for a later date. We know how important vacations are to our clients and how much they give clients something to look forward to, particularly during difficult times like these.

“We recognize that these unprecedented events have had a major impact on our clients, and we would like to thank them for their loyalty, understanding and patience.

“Although these are difficult times for everyone, the sun will rise again. When you do, our award-winning teams will be there to bring guests on vacation, a well-deserved vacation package they can trust once again. “

easyJet

Budget airline easyJet said it does not have a fixed date to start flying again.

A spokesperson told Mirror Money: “There is no certainty at this stage of the date to restart commercial flights and we are continually evaluating based on changing regulations and customer demand.

“We have an ongoing program of continuous cancellation and we are working to fix it after the April sale.

“Once we have identified a flight to cancel, we will prevent more passengers from booking on it and inform passengers about the cancellation and their options.”

But there was some good news for people who have already booked trips.

“For customers whose flights are not canceled but want to move to a later date, they can modify their flight online at no change fee and we have moved our winter schedule up for sale so that customers have more options to move their flights, up to February 28, 2021, “added the spokesperson.
