Singer Niall Horan has revealed that in order to conquer isolation, he has taught his 89-year-old grandmother to use FaceTime.

Niall, a Mullingar native, said: “The family, the parents, my grandmother, have gotten my 89-year-old grandmother to use Face Time, which is awesome.”

The 26-year-old singer explained that the most difficult part of the outbreak has been the bad time of his new album, Heartbreak Weather and the cancellation of his tour.

He said, “The hardest part was sending an email to the crew of 100 people who work with me, my gang, they weren’t expecting to be out of a job.”

“They live tour by tour and travel around the world to support their families.

“I’m fine, I can get into the studio, I’m fine just to be writing music. It was the most difficult email I’ve ever written in my career.”

Speaking to Apple Music’s Beats 1 with Zane Lowe, the Slow Hands singer added: “I think there will be a lot of great songs at the end of it all.

“You have so much time with your thoughts, you have nothing more to do than go to the store, go jogging for half an hour, apart from that you are there with your thoughts when you lie in bed or are sitting on the sofa, there is much more deep thinking and much more to write about. “

Niall Horan performs live on 2FM and Instagram on Thursday night at 7:00 pm in aid of the ISPCC.
