About 6,000 chickens died in a fire that engulfed a farm in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.
The fire at the property on Crosscavanagh Road on the outskirts of town was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
Eight fire fighting devices attended the scene.
Firefighters battled the flames for more than three and a half hours.
A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said the fire was believed to have started accidentally.
“The firefighters worked hard in difficult conditions to prevent the fire from spreading and used three jets of water to extinguish the fire,” he said.
“Approximately 6,000 chickens died in the incident.”
The fire was extinguished around 2.30am on Monday.
It comes after at least 2,000 pigs died in a farm fire in Co Down last week.
The maternity home at Glenmarshal Pedigree Pig, a shed where sows and their piglets were kept, was destroyed in the fire.
