A woman in her 60s died after a collision between a car and a tuck this afternoon.
The accident happened near the Baxters Bridge on Bandon to Balineen Road around 1pm today.
Currently, the road is closed and there are local detours while emergency services deal with the scene.
The collision occurred at the Bandon Golf Club turnoff near Baxters Bridge.
A man, reportedly in his 60s, the driver of the car, has been taken to Cork University Hospital, where his condition is described as serious. The truck driver was unhurt.
Sadly, the fourth victim, a woman in her 60s, died at the scene.
Currently, the road is closed for a technical examination and there are local detours.
Garda is asking anyone with information, particularly road users with dash cam images, to contact them at Bandon Garda station on 023 885 2200 or on the confidential Garda line on 1800 666 111.
