So far this weekend, 60% of the new Covid-19 cases reported in the country are in Dublin.
It comes as the county enters its second day of heightened restrictions, aimed at reducing the spread of the virus.
Yesterday, the Health Protection Surveillance Center reported 274 new cases of coronavirus.
Of these, 166 cases, or 60%, occurred in Dublin, where stricter public health measures have been introduced.
However, there was a wide geographic distribution among the 108 remaining cases, which occurred in another 21 counties.
65% of the new cases occurred in people under 45 years of age and there are 52 new cases of community transmission where the origin of the infection is unknown.
Public health officials are now urging people both in Dublin and across the country to limit their social contacts to help slow the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, the Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland (ASTI) is voting its members for industrial action, on what it says are a host of health and safety issues that have emerged since the schools reopened.
The union said it is concerned about, among other things, physical distancing in schools, the provision of personal protective equipment, test response times and protection for high-risk teachers.
