50-year-old man dies in fatal accident in Tullkyne, Moycullen, Co Galway

A man in his 50s died in a fatal car accident in Moycullen, Co Galway.

The tragic single-vehicle accident occurred near an elementary school.

AA Roadwatch reports that the road is closed near Tullykyne National School following the incident that occurred just before 10pm last night.

A spokesperson revealed: “The local Tullykyne Rd is closed outside of Moycullen, near Tullykyne National School, following a collision last night.”

The scene is being preserved for a technical examination this morning.

A garda spokesperson told The Irish Daily Mirror: “Gardaí is at the scene of a single vehicle traffic collision that occurred on L1313 in Gortachalla, Moycullen, Co. Galway at approximately 9:55 pm last night.

“A man in his 50s, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Since then his body has been transferred to the Galway University Hospital morgue.

“Currently, the road is closed for a technical examination and there are local detours.

“Gardaí is appealing to anyone with information, particularly road users with camera images (including the dash cam), to contact them at the Salthill Garda station on 091 514 720, the confidential line of Garda on 1800 666 111 or at any Garda station “.
