40-year-old man tragically died after car crashed into wall in Dublin

A man tragically died after his car hit a wall in Dublin.

The heartbreaking incident happened on Skerries to Lusk Road in Milverton around 12 p.m.

The driver of the car, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai is asking for any witnesses to the accident to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal traffic collision involving a vehicle that occurred in Skerries, Co. Dublin, this afternoon of Sunday 7 March 2021.

“Shortly after noon today, a car collided with a wall on Skerries to Lusk Road (R127) in Milverton. The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, received fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

“The road was temporarily closed to facilitate forensic collision investigators. Since then, the road has been reopened.

“Gardaí is appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to contact them. Gardaí is also appealing to anyone who was driving on the Skerries road to Lusk (R127) between 11:45 am and 12:15 pm and who may have camera footage to make it available.

“Anyone with information related to this collision should contact the Balbriggan Garda station on 01 802 0510, the confidential Garda line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
