A man, in his 40s, who was seriously injured in an incident in Seville Place, Dublin 1 in the early morning of Wednesday 2 September, has died in hospital.
The man had suffered serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mater Hospital, where he was pronounced dead this morning.
His body was taken to the Dublin City Morgue, where Dr. Heidi Okkers from the Office of the State Pathologist carried out a post-mortem examination this afternoon.
Preliminary autopsy results have been provided to gardaí, details of which cannot be disclosed for “operational reasons”.
An investigation into the incident and all the circumstances surrounding the man’s death continues. To date no arrests have been made in the case, but Gardaí is following a defined line of investigation.
Investigative Gardaí are renewing their appeal to anyone who has witnessed this incident to come forward. They are also attractive to road users who may have camera images (including dash cam) of the area at that time to make available to them.
