GARDAÍ CHECKED Yesterday the speeds of more than 185,000 vehicles and it was found that one was traveling at 188km / h during the national deceleration day.
Gardaí celebrated National Deceleration Day over a 24-hour period from 7 a.m. yesterday to 7 a.m. this morning.
Gardaí also seized € 30,000 worth of cocaine and arrested and charged a man after a traffic stop carried out as part of the raid yesterday in Wicklow.
Gardaí and GoSafe reviewed 186,125 vehicles during this time and found 892 vehicles traveling over the applicable speed limit.
These included a driver traveling at 188 km / h in a 120 km / h zone on the M7 at Naas, Co Kildare.
One person was also caught traveling at 161 km / h in a 100 km / h zone in Roscommon and another driving at 162 km / h in a 100 km / h zone in Limerick.

The car was searched and a “substantial amount” of cocaine was discovered.
Several houses were also searched in the Dún Laoghaire and Brittas Bay areas, where a small amount of cocaine and ecstasy were found.
The man was arrested and later charged. He is scheduled to appear in Bray District Court this morning.
