30-year-old man tragically dies in Tipperary house fire as gardai searches for witnesses

A man tragically died after a house fire in Tipperary in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Gardai was first alerted to the fire on St Michaels Avenue in Tipperary Town around 5 a.m.

Emergency services and firefighters rushed to the scene, where they fought the blaze before extinguishing the fire.

The body of a man in his 30s was found inside the house.

A spokesperson said: “Gardai investigating the death of a man in Co. Tipperary on October 27, 2020 is requesting witnesses.

“Around 5 am, Gardai in Tipperary Town received a report of a house fire on St Michaels Avenue, Tipperary Town. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene and the fire was extinguished by fire services.

“The body of a man, in his 30s, was discovered inside the house. No other person was injured as a result of the fire. The man’s body is currently on site and a technical examination of the house is due. occur.

“Gardaí is asking witnesses who noticed something at the time of the fire to contact Tipperary Town Garda station at 062-80670.”
