A man died last night after an accident in a small town in Wexford.
The tragic single vehicle incident occurred in Newtown, Taghmon, around 11.30pm
The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai is now asking witnesses who were in the area at the time, particularly those with dash cam footage, to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal single vehicle traffic collision that occurred at approximately 11:30 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020, in Newtown, Taghmon, County Wexford.
“The driver of the car involved, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
“Currently the road is closed for forensic collision investigators to technically examine. There are local detours.
“Gardaí in Wexford is asking that any witnesses to this collision or any road user who may have camera footage (including the dash cam) traveling in the area at this time to make these footage available to Gardaí.
“Anyone with information is requested to contact the Wexford Garda station at 053 9165200, the confidential Garda line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
