A SWIMMER died today after struggling off the coast of Howth.
The man, in his 20s, was pulled out of the water and taken to Beaumont Hospital, where he died shortly thereafter.

Gardai, the Irish Coast Guard, the Dublin Fire Brigade and NAS teamed up to save the man this afternoon.
The Irish Coast Guard rescue coordination center received a call to 999, reporting a person in distress on a beach near the Baily lighthouse in Howth.
The Howth Coast Guard rescue team, along with the Howth RNLI lifeboat, carried the man to the beach near Thormanby Road, where he was treated at the scene by the Dublin Fire Brigade, Howth RNLI and ambulance services. .
He was then airlifted by Coast Guard Rescue R116 helicopter to a helicopter pad and then to Beaumont Hospital by ambulance.
‘TRAGIC ACCIDENT’
Kilbarrack firefighters and paramedics were also involved in the multi-agency rescue.
Despite his best efforts, the swimmer passed away.
A Garda Siochana spokesperson told the Irish Sun: “Gardai and emergency services attended an incident on a beach near Thormanby Road, Howth, on April 2, 2021.
