Principal Eilis Casey told the Limerick Leader: “We were all very surprised on Thursday when we learned of the terrible accident in Pallasgreen.

“That same morning we had received her along with the rest of the first years on her first day of high school.

“Like so many students who started that morning, she was excited, perhaps a little anxious, but ready to begin a new phase of her learning.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family at this time. We also think about and have established support structures for her friends who came with her since her elementary school and will continue to provide pastoral care.”

“Our hope is that he will return to us as soon as possible.”
