She said on Instagram: ‘Yesterday afternoon I was attacked by a woman who was high on her thoughts about drugs and desperate for cash.
‘She covered me in my face in a parking lot and took my belongings and jumped into a getaway car while her husband stepped up. Everything was sorted out with the police and she was arrested.
‘Luckily I had witnesses and I got really quick assistance. The cops told me that this often happens because people are currently desperate for money because of Coronavirus and people without work.
“There are a lot of thefts and muggs down there. This is meant to remind everyone to be really careful and to look around you. These are really tough times and we need to look out for each other.”
Baldwin and Basinger married in 1993, with Ireland arriving two years later. The couple divorced in 2000 before divorcing in 2002.
The split was acrimonious, and Baldwin wrote a book, A promise for ourselves: A journey through fatherhood and divorce, accused Basinger of making it difficult for her daughter to be a parent.
