According to Wedbush investment banking firm analyst Daniel Ives, the first iPhone 5G could drive a supercycle. But then again, 5G networks have not been launched everywhere and that is why Apple is allegedly preparing two 4G iPhone 12 models too. A Previous report had indicated that only the base model would be available in the 4G flavor as well. Now it looks like there are two 4G ready iPhone models on the cards, as the tipster says there is also an LTE iPhone 12 Max and it will be priced at $ 649.

Until a few days ago, the common consensus was that Apple will launch four iPhone 12 models in three sizes and they will all be 5G ready. The line was expected to include a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
And then recently it was reported that a fifth model, the 4G iPhone 12, is also in the works. This is not really new information, and is more of a corroboration than was heard before.
Entry-level 4G-iPhone 12 could sport an LCD screen
If six iPhone 12 models don’t seem possible to you, we’d like to refresh your memory. In December 2019, analyst Jun Zhang of Rosenblatt Securities claimed that Apple would launch six iPhone 12 models in 2020, including two 4G models, one of which would have an LCD screen.
Zhang also said that 5G iPhone 12 models will feature a “completely different number of components” compared to LTE models.
All 5G iPhone 12 models are likely powered by the A14 Bionic chipset and have OLED displays. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will reportedly have a dual camera system, while the more robust models are expected to have a triple camera setup that will include a LiDAR depth sensor. In addition, high-end models are also designed to support 120Hz “ProMotion” refresh rate and larger batteries to keep up to date. The form factor of the new models will likely be similar to that of the iPhone 4.
If Apple is planning to launch six iPhone 12 models, fans will have plenty of options, starting at $ 549 and going up to $ 1,399 for the specified model.
