Instagram is launching a new shopping page that will highlight brands and collections

Instagram is making it easier for people to shop within their app. Today, you are beginning to widely deploy a dedicated Store page on the Explore tab that will highlight the different brands and items that people can buy. The Store page will also provide users with personalized recommendations on things to buy, and everything can be purchased from the app. Instagram is also doing Facebook Pay, which allows people to insert most of their credit or debit card information into the app and save it for easy money sharing. Facebook Pay is available for both purchases and donations, which has been planned since the product’s debut. Both features are coming to the United States first.

Combined, these features make shopping on Instagram smoother, especially when it comes to paying. People don’t have to leave Instagram or constantly re-enter their payment information to buy something, which has previously presented a major hurdle for shoppers. Instagram charges a sales fee for purchases made through Instagram, so it’s been set up to benefit more and more from those sales as purchases become more popular in the app.

Instagram has slowly added shopping features to its app. Last year, it allowed in-app purchases, and in 2018, it started allowing users to tag products on their photos and video content, making them more profitable. Instagram is setting itself up to be a place where people can find inspiration for lifestyle or clothing and where they can effortlessly buy the items to make the life of their dreams come true.

Correction 7/16, 8:46 AM ET: This story initially stated that Instagram doesn’t take a share of the purchases. That is incorrect; Instagram charges a sales fee for companies that use its purchasing feature. We have updated the piece and regret the error.
