‘I’m leaving. You won: ‘Seattle police officer stops because of protest


A Seattle police officer told a protester in a no-viral video that he was being fired from the police department and suggested it was because of the ongoing anti-police demonstrations taking place in the city.

In the video of which was posted Twitter On Saturday, the officer, who is not mentioned in the clip, is seen picked up in a patrol car next to the protester who is filming the video and asks him if he is having a good day.

“Not really, you’re in the neighborhood,” replies the man, whose face is out of the frame throughout the video.

“Oh, well, I’m sorry,” said the officer. ‘But do not worry, man, for think what? I’m leaving. You wounds. F — two months, baby. I’m reading it. ”

The protester then asks if the officer will be fired and how he feels about it.

‘I feel great. Yes, I’m leaving this department. You wounded, ”the officer responded.

The man behind the camera then asks the officer if he has been fired due to police brutality, indicating that the officer is actually quitting because he is tired of dealing with the protests.

The officer then gets out of his car to come up with a disturbance, while the protester exclaims to other protesters: “he said he’s tired of us and he’s going to fire because of Black Lives Matter, not because he’s tired of ‘ the police! “

When the officer returns to his car, the protester begins to counsel him.

‘Hey, you unpacked, boy? You have trigger? Says the protester. “Oink oink. Oink oink. Yes, f — you and your blue life, boy. F — you and your blue life. ”

“Why can’t we be friends?” asked the officer.

“No, we will never be friends,” the protester responded. ‘We will never see eye to eye. We will never see eye to eye. I do not give f — if you take off that badge. You will never be my people. You’ll never be my friend. ”

It is not exactly clear when or where the video was filmed, but it was posted days after Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best announced she had resigned after the city council approved cuts to her department’s budget. Sy cited a “lack of respect” for their officers instead of the budget cuts as a reason for their dismissal.

Seattle, like many cities, has experienced major protests against racial injustice and police brutality following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police in May.

At least 18 people were arrested Sunday in Seattle when a riot was declared during an anti-police demonstration just south of downtown.

Authorities said about 100 protesters marched on Sunday night to the Seattle police station of the police officer. Shortly after 10 a.m., someone set off a large explosive device and tried to break out a window of police cars.

Protesters then started throwing rocks, bottles and explosives at police, killing at least three officers, according to to police.
