IFixit Teardown: Almost identical to the M1 Mook Kabuk Pro and the M B Kabuk Air Inters Intel models

iFixit today shared a vague overview of the new MBQbook Air and MBKbook Pro, we need to know what’s under the hood. Mostly, the inside of these machines looks similar to the old Intel MBKbook, but there are some highlights.

Replacing the fan is the biggest change in the MacBook Air, with the fan being replaced by an aluminum spreader on the left side of the logic board.

A thick cold plate on the M1 processor draws heat by conducting it toward its dexterity, cold end, where it is safely dispersed away. Without a fan, this solution takes longer to cool, and can drain out sooner, but through the above heatpipes or steam chambers, the sink also has more mass to satisfy with thermal energy radiation. There are no moving parts, and nothing to break.

With the exception of the new logic board and cooler, the interior of the “MacBook Air” is similar to its predecessor, and Ifixit says the repair process will “remain almost the same.”

Speaking of the MBKbook Pro, it is so similar to the previous MBK Dell that iFixit had to double check to make sure that the older MBKbook Pro was not accidentally purchased.

The iFixit was expected to see some integration of the MBKbook parts and design, but the cooling setup is similar to what is seen in the Intel MBBK models. This fan, in fact, is similar to the fan in the 2020 13-inch M BBQ Pro earlier this year.

While the internals of the MacBook Air and MBQbook Pro are similar to their Intel counterparts, the iFixite has a shiny silver bit with the Pul logo, which has taken a look at the brand new M1 chip. Next to the chip, there is a small silicon rectangle that is Apple Pal’s integrated memory chips.

Ifixit says integrated memory is “slightly destructive” because it makes repairs more difficult on the M1 Mac. Note that the M1 Mac models do not have the Apple PL-designed T2 chip, as the T2 security functionality is integrated directly into the M1 chip.

Ifixit says this sounds like a superficial change, an expression of “years of intense work” with “a lot more signs coming in the future”. Go to Ifixit to read the full teardown.
