Ifixit traditionally shares a tear for every new Apple Pal product, and this time it was no different from the AirPods Max. While these headphones are like the first look on the internal, iFixit said the AirPods Max isn’t as easy to pick up as other over-ear headphones.
As we already know, the AirPods Max comes with two 40mm dynamic drivers, two magnetic ear pads, eight microphones for sound cancellation and two H1 chips inside – one for each side of the headphones.
X-rays from the AirPods Max show that Apple’s over-ear headphones have two battery cells, but both are in the same ear cup. iFixit noted that there are some solder joints and wires near the battery, but they still couldn’t find connectors to easily replace the battery.
While the speaker units seem to be secured with screws, there are some parts of the Airpods Max that contain glue. The headphones had to be heated to fully disassemble the iFixit. “These headphones aren’t as easy to pick up as they are (or you might expect from other headphones),” the company says.
You can see below the images showing the internal components of the AirPods Max, such as Bluetooth chip, audio Dio amplifier, accelerometer and more. IFixit says it will share AirPods Max’s .nanda teardown in the coming days.
Don’t worry, we’ll be back to give you a full blow-up of the volatility and analysis later. For now, we’ll just leave it here.
