The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching. Teams must agree to trade by Nov. 3 by 1 p.m. That, of course, includes chargers.
Tom Telesco has not been particularly active in the trading market since taking over as Chargers General Manager in January 2013. Not counting draft-day trade-ups and trade downs, Telesco has made five trades in eight years, and only one of those deals came ahead of the season, when it donned a huge receiver to the Bears for a seventh-round draft six days before the 2017 deadline. That relative inaction is one reason I don’t expect Telesco to make a deal before any deadline. Also, the Chargers are 1-4 and there is only a 16.9 percent chance of making a postseason, according to Football Outsiders. They have two games before the deadline to try to get back into the argument and claw, including a Sunday against 1-5 Jaguars, so that odds can change. But buying at this point would be daunting …
