- Would you see Donald Trump politely clapping on Biden’s opening day?
- Not me either.
- My bet is that Biden wins and once the GOP turns to him, Trump will haunt us.
- He can’t face defeat, so he goes to Mar-a-Lago for Christmas and never comes back.

President Donald Trump has lost Pennsylvania and thus the presidency (according to Insider and our data partner Decision Desk HQ), and G.O.P. Has started To go back from it (or at least the more discreet wing of the party). So despite his reluctance to face reality so far, Trump will eventually have to admit that he has lost the bid for re-election.
After that I think he will make us ghosts.
I don’t think Trump was really joking when he told the crowd at his rallies that people would “never see” him again if he lost. He is not a man who can get lost in the stomach. He got out of debt, haunted contractors, failed to pay big bills, and repeatedly went bankrupt. He is trapped in lies, and is reported to have largely escaped tax evasion plans. I can’t imagine him politely applauding at the inauguration when Biden is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.
Maybe there will be some legal battles ahead and protests and violence could happen very well. I’m not saying this is going to be pretty cool. Trump has never gone anywhere in peace in his life.
But what I am saying is that Trump will have to leave the White House if democracy is respected and other elected officials live up to their responsibilities to our country. I don’t think he is capable of doing so by any grace. Instead I think he’ll go to Mar-a-Lago (maybe for Christmas, maybe just for the weekend) and he won’t go back to Washington. It will haunt us.
He doesn’t seem to have any pressure on the White House – even though he had an incredible light schedule for the president – and he never paid much attention to passing legislation. He is never interested in the work of the presidency, only power.
And if power is fading, then what is the appeal? Do you think it would be a pleasure to call Donald Trump the “lame duck president”?
Hell no. Let him see us ghosts.
