Cube just fired a shot at WB on Twitter, claiming that the media giant is refusing to rein in the “Friday” franchise to make it a more sequel, and thus hijacking the “happiness of culture”.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … How Ice Cube has been treated with Warner Bros. over the years has really been her claim, and the controversy over more sequels is the tip of the iceberg – no pun intended.
Our sources say WB owns the rights to the ‘Friday’ franchise, and the studio is not currently interested in making any more sequels. OG “Friday” was released in 1995, followed by “Next Friday” in 2000 and “After Friday” in 2002.
We’ve been told that Cube is angry because Warner Bros. is refusing to give him the right to produce a sequel elsewhere … and our sources say that Cube thinks the ‘Friday’ franchise is his art, and If WB doesn’t want to make more movies he should give them those rights so he can.
