“I would hate to see us walk away from that”: Brad Keselowski talks about racing in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is considered to be a very iconic circuit in motorsport circles. Many of the best racing series used to visit it annually, and some still do. NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP and Formula One had it on their calendar at some point. Sadly, F1 no longer visits the Brickyard, due to that infamous scene in 2005, where only six cars went on the grill. Returning to NASCAR, however, driver Brad Keselowski recently spoke about the iconic circuit.

In a video, he said he expected to visit the oval, especially considering that F1 used to compete there. According to him, anything at Indy will surely be a lot of fun due to his racing pedigree. However, he said that the oval gives off a more special feeling compared to the circuit.

What else did Brad Keselowski say?

Speaking to Fox Sports, he said: “I would hate to see us walk away from that. Find the rule pack that can help us organize a show that is compelling, like an IndyCar race. No one really wants to see us on the road. I understand that at this stage NASCAR road racing is considered more entertaining to watch. ”

However, he confessed that he personally prefers to run in the oval and have a great race. Interestingly enough, he was quite critical of the IMS circuit last year after a terrifying shipwreck.

Apparently Erik Jones tried to slide under him as he headed for Turn 2, but failed. He cut off Brad Keselowski’s back and sent the car skating to the outside wall before turning to his final resting place.

What made it even more terrifying was the fact that the car was on its side next to a tire barrier. As a result, Keselowski had to leave the driver’s side net to free himself.
